Engineering Operative

What will the apprentice be doing on site

We have a varied and interesting role for an apprentice to join a local Metal Fabricator, who designs, manufactures and installs ventilation and heating systems.
Working as part of a skilled team, the successful candidate will be involved in:
• All workshop processes including cutting, rolling and forming
• Welding (MIG/TIG)
• Working with aluminium, stainless steel, mild and galvanised steel
• CNC machine work
• Creating bespoke systems involved in ductwork, ventilation and heating systems
• Going to site to install the manufactured items.
The apprentice will not be in a production line situation, as each item is created to be bespoke and individualised to the customer’s needs and requirements.

The apprentice will attend off the job training sessions once a week and will be working towards gaining a Level 2 Engineering Operative qualification.

There is scope for the apprentice to move on into full time employment with the business on successful completion of the Apprenticeship.

Wage: The apprentice will start on £7.00 per hour with the potential for this to increase over the duration of the course.
